Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

The short version: ReviewRadar displays publicly observable statistical data about review removal notices on Google Maps. We do not collect personal data, do not set tracking cookies, and do not build user profiles. Browsing this site is anonymous.

What ReviewRadar is

ReviewRadar is a public-interest transparency project hosted at reviewradar.typeid.org on Cloudflare Pages. It publishes statistical data about businesses that display review removal notices on Google Maps in Germany's largest cities. The site is scraped weekly via automated tools; no personal data about Google Maps users is collected or stored.

What data we collect about visitors

ReviewRadar does not actively collect or process personal data about its visitors. No account is required and no cookies are set by this website itself. The following incidental processing occurs as part of running any public website:

  • Cloudflare access logs: Cloudflare, which hosts this site, may log your IP address, browser user agent, and pages requested as part of standard CDN operation. These logs are controlled by Cloudflare under their own privacy policy.
  • Cloudflare R2 access logs: The JSON data files served from our Cloudflare R2 storage bucket are similarly subject to Cloudflare's standard logging.

Advertising

This site may display advertisements served by Google AdSense. AdSense may use cookies and similar technologies to serve personalised ads based on your browsing activity. You can opt out of personalised advertising at google.com/settings/ads or via youronlinechoices.eu. Google's use of advertising cookies is governed by Google's advertising policies.

What data the scraper collects

Our automated scraper collects only publicly visible business data from Google Maps search results:

  • Business name, address, and category
  • Current star rating and review count
  • The number range shown in the review removal banner (e.g. "21–50 reviews removed")
  • The Google Maps place URL

We do not collect review text, reviewer names, profile information, or any personal data about users who left reviews. The removal count range is a figure displayed publicly on the Google Maps listing itself.

Legal basis for processing

  • Cloudflare access logs are processed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — legitimate interest in operating a secure, functional website.
  • Publication of business data is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — legitimate interest in public-interest transparency. Business listings on Google Maps are publicly accessible and the removal counts are displayed on the listing itself. No personal data about natural persons is stored.
  • Advertising: where Google AdSense is active and personalised advertising is used, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent), managed via Google's consent tools.

Your rights under GDPR

Under GDPR (EU) 2016/679 you have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), and to object to processing (Art. 21). To exercise these rights contact smudge.arch-3g@icloud.com. Since this site collects no personal data about visitors beyond incidental hosting logs, most rights are best exercised directly with Cloudflare.
